in a matter of six months

somewhat recently i was asked "how are you doing?"...followed by, "no, how are you really doing?" the significant constituent in such a conversation was not the fact that someone actually cared about the answer nor was it my response, but the response of this acquaintance...which was something along the lines of: the past six months being the best six months (perhaps in his life, but i cant recall those being his exact words).
why was this, an answer to an everyday question, so profound to me? as i reflect upon my past six months they have been ceaselessly overflowing with back to back trials and heartache that i've never known to the extent at which they have pierced me. and in the midst of all this...seeking God. yet it wasn't until an indepth conversation last night with my most wise mentor krista, that it all came together. it was then that i saw a glimpse of the amazing purpose God has been weaving together these past six months through all the questions, doubt, broken pieces of my heart, fears, and tears. while i dont know how or why my newest acquaintance can say such a glorious statement...i find that with such a new discovered perspective, i too can give a genunine smile and honestly say the past six months have been the best six months, perhaps...of my whole life. [hmm im thankful to realize all this before i turn twenty-one tomorrow ;)]
i read a quote once that seems to fit quite appropriately, it said: if my life is broken when given to Jesus, it is because pieces will feed a multitude, while a loaf will satisfy only a little lad.
