expect the unexpected

tonight i strolled over to "my" starbucks expecting to start and finish homework (at a reasonable hour). what entailed in those next 2 hours of hopeful diligence and discipline was neither of those things. instead i spent my time in 3 intense conversations through the technology of the cellular mobile device. i pretty much have some form of brain radiation now. no really, all three conversations i was very honored to be a part of, just unexpected. [something else unexpected, was that i was inches from getting hit by a car on the stroll home but that is a blog for another day. :) ] anyway, i guess the point of this...is that i came to the realization as i placed my bag of unfinished tasks on the bed...that im ever so thankful that just a few hours earlier i had amazing quality time with jesus cristo as well as an approx. 2 mile run. you see, for those three conversations had nothing to do with me...but others who needed Spirit-filled encouragement. and i was prepared to give to the full extent of that which God had for me. (how does the two mile run fit into all this you ask, well...it released all the stress, jitteriness, and i just felt great afterward.) and now with the expectation of spending a late night finishing up homework...i can honestly and joyfully say, with God i can come to expect the unexpected...and might i add, what a glorious unexpected evening. :)
