downtown s.d.

saturday late afternoon i awoke from my much appreciated nap to the sound of my cell phone singing its head-bopping tune. it was andrew! he had come back early from his spring break vacation spot to play! first we played a few intense games of ping pong while catching each other up on the events of the past week. (he read the count of monte cristo, what kind of guy spends a portion of his spring break reading a novel? how rad is that!) after much discussion and indecisiveness we then headed to our next activity...
parking in the horton plaza parking garage, we bought some orbit gum to validate our ticket, then strolled over to the two story starbucks in dt sd. we sat outside, sipped our fraps, people watched, and had good quality conversation. we thought it ironic how there we were sitting in the world but not feeling a part of it. we were not like the people passing us by. we were set apart. it was like some crazy matrix scene only without the special effects. it became a very thought-provoking night for me. we continued our stroll around dt and during that time God answered a prayer request and prompted me to act out my faith. regretfully, i quenched the Spirit. it all happened so fast. when i thought the occasion had passed, i recall God graciously giving me another split-second moment to fulfill His prodding, not acting quickly enough...it too passed in the sea of time. i can't seem to free my mind from the scene, from the deliberate omission of such an opportunity. asking the "what if's", foreshadowing what could have happened...how someone's eternity may have been effected had my fears and logic not overpowered me. i once wrote to a friend on the topic of risk-taking...without faith risks given to us may seem illogical or irrational. where was my faith?

And it is very true that you are indecisive... :)
